Sedna is a native XML DBMS implemented in C/C++ and Scheme with support for XQuery and some declarative update language. It has transaction support, user access control, indexes, regular expressions, and support for XQuery external functions (written in C). There are client drivers for Java, Scheme, .NET, Python, and Scheme.
