Hi there!
I'm Lars Marius Garshol, a Norwegian technologist living in Oslo. I spend most of my time working for a software company I founded with some friends, called Ontopia. We develop software for a cutting-edge semantic technology called Topic Maps. My role is "Development Manager", which means I'm responsible for the software products. I do a lot of research, technical design, development, managing of developers, teaching, speaking, sales work, and so on and so forth.
As part of my work at Ontopia I'm co-editor of three ISO standards:
In my earlier work life I also did other things, like write a book on XML application development, work for Opera Software, write open source XML software in Python, and XML-related consulting work.
When I don't work, I sleep. Well, not really, but sometimes it seems that way. I have a great interest in beer, I like to travel, I'm very interested in literature, but also read a lot of other types of books, and I listen a lot to music. I also like to write, so like everybody else with a computer and an internet connection I started a blog.
