About me

[Picture of me]

Hi there!

I'm Lars Marius Garshol, a Norwegian technologist living in Lillestrøm, outside Oslo. I work as a consultant at Bouvet, working mostly with semantic technologies and architecture. I'm part of a group that does information integration applications based on RDF and search engines. See this presentation for more on that.

In an earlier life I was CTO at Ontopia, a company that produced Topic Maps software (the other semantic technology). There I was also a consultant, researcher, and editor for several of the Topic Maps ISO standards.

Before that again I wrote a book on XML application development, implemented the Unicode support in the Opera web browser, and wrote open source XML software in Python.

I'm also a beer enthusiast, a dad, and a traveller who likes to take photos. More about this on my blog.
